You need to practice a bit on how to insert and remove the cup, but once you have the technique down, it becomes easy and comfortable.\r
Before using the cup for the first time, you must sterilize it: wash your hands and put enough boiled water in a pot. Submerge the cup completely in water for 3-4 minutes. Remove the cup from the water and it is ready for use. We recommend repeating this process after each cycle to keep your cup perfectly clean.\r
\r
HOW TO INSERT\r
Step 1. Wash your hands thoroughly and take a comfortable position. Recommended positions are: squatting, sitting on the toilet, or standing.\r
Step 2. Fold the cup (Fig.1). There are two ways to fold the cup:\r
A – Push both sides of the cup towards each other and fold the cup in half to form a 'U'.\r
B – Place a finger on the edge of the top of the cup and push it inward to form a triangle.\r
Step 3. (Fig. 2 and 3) While holding the folded cup in one hand, gently spread the outer labia with your other hand. Insert the cup into the vagina towards the tailbone until the stem is level with the vaginal opening and does not protrude. Do not push the end of the stem more than 1.5 cm into the vagina. The cup sits lower than a tampon. Once you have placed the cup, let it go; the cup will open and fit perfectly against your vaginal wall.\r
Step 4. (Fig. 4) To ensure the cup is in the right place, turn it 360º in any direction by holding it at the base (above the stem). The cup should turn easily if it is properly positioned. To ensure the cup is fully opened, you can insert one finger into your vagina and gently press against one side of your vaginal wall to create space for the cup to fully open. If the stem causes irritation to the vaginal wall after it has been properly inserted, you can remove the cup and trim the stem a little. If the stem is completely trimmed, it will be more difficult to remove the cup.\r
\r
HOW TO REMOVE\r
1. Wash your hands\r
2. Take a comfortable position (standing, sitting on the toilet, or squatting). Insert your index finger and thumb into the vagina and look for the stem or the bottom of the cup.\r
3. Pulling will be easier with a slight tightening of the lower abdominal/pelvic floor muscles.\r
4. Gently pull on the stem so you can grip the base of the cup firmly.\r
5. Gently squeeze the base of the cup to break the vacuum. When removing the cup, hold it at an angle and move it back and forth.\r
6. Hold the cup vertically when it is fully removed from the vagina, so the contents stay in the cup. Empty the cup into the toilet afterwards.\r
7. Rinse the cup with clean water so it's ready for the next use. Make sure the holes at the top are well cleaned. You can also use unscented soap. If there's no clean water nearby, you can dry the cup with toilet paper or a tissue and wash it later with clean water.\r
OTHER TIPS\r
\r
The menstrual cup must be emptied at least every 12 hours. We recommend washing and cleaning the cup 2 to 3 times daily after emptying. Once you have mapped out your cup usage and flow, you'll quickly know how often to empty your cup. Wash, clean, and dry your GENIAL DAY® cup thoroughly after each menstrual period. Make sure to clean the suction holes well. Store the cup in the provided cotton bag.\r
You can use the cup at night, during sports, and in the swimming pool.\r
You do not need to remove the cup to urinate or have a bowel movement.

Warnings
PREVENTIVE WARNINGS\r
Use the cup according to the instructions and only during menstruation.\r
The cup must be removed before you have intercourse. Remember that the menstrual cup is not a contraceptive and does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases.\r
The menstrual cup is for intimate use, so it is better not to share it.\r
Clean the cup with unscented mild soap and warm water. Do not use scented soap, oil-based soap, castile soap, alcohol, antibacterial soap, hand soap, vinegar, tea tree oil, wet wipes, dish soap, peroxide, bleach, or other harsh chemicals.\r
Do not use oil-based lubricant to insert the cup.\r
Never store the cup in a plastic bag or an airtight box.\r
The menstrual cup can be used together with an IUD or a pessary. Consult your doctor about this before using the cup.\r
If you experience negative effects, stop using the cup and consult your doctor.\r
If your cup shows signs of damage, it is advisable to replace the cup. Dispose of the cup in the trash. NOTE: the color of the cup may naturally fade slightly over time. This does not affect the effectiveness of the cup.\r
Keep the menstrual cup out of reach of children and animals.\r
How often should you replace the menstrual cup\r
Regularly inspect your cup for signs of damage, such as a sticky or powdery layer, different discolorations, odor, and/or experiencing irritation. Since it is a personal hygiene product, you should generally replace the cup after 1 year. However, it is up to the user to decide when they want to replace their cup.

Manufacturer / Distributor
Gentleday Benelux,
Bleiswijkseweg 37c,
2712PB Zoetermeer
