Packaging

At Biolovers, we strive to package and ship our products as sustainably as possible. We use recycled cardboard and biodegradable green filling granules to protect the products during transport.

The green filling granules are entirely made from natural raw materials: air, water, and plant starch. Therefore, as confirmed by the Fraunhofer Institute, they are harmlessly biodegradable within a short period.

The filling granules can be reused, disposed of, or composted and are fully soluble in water.

Plastic (air cushions)

If we use plastic, it is recycled packaging material and can be disposed of with plastic waste. To protect the products during transport, we fill large packages with air cushions, which are super light and therefore have little impact on the weight during transport. The sustainable air cushions are easy to reuse and can be recycled.

Paper filling material

• Recyclable kraft paper
• Is made from 100% recycled material
• Can be fully recycled
• Reliably protects products thanks to the same packaging properties as conventional kraft paper

RE-USE: Thanks to the extraordinary quality of the paper, the paper buffers can be used multiple times.

REDUCE: Paper with recycled components. This makes efficient use of the recycling loop. The production of the narrower rolls of GE paper requires up to 20% less water and energy.

RECYCLE: Paper buffers are part of the recycling loop for paper and are 100% recyclable. Does not use coated paper. Disposal through existing recycling facilities contributes to the use of primary raw materials. Only ink types that can be easily removed by the recycling company (de-inking process) are used for the paper.

CO2 compensation

For our customers who want to contribute, we also offer the option to compensate the CO2 of the order. At checkout, you can make your purchase climate neutral for a small fee. Would you like to contribute extra to the CO2 emissions of your package? You can do this at checkout.

Sustainable delivery = net zero CO₂

We send all packages with PostNL, contributing to sustainable delivery as Biolovers. From 2022, all mail and package shipments will be CO₂ compensated. Want to know more? Read more about it at postnl.nl/duurzaambezorgd.

Electric vehicles

We have been delivering almost all our letters on foot and by bike for 220 years! And we are increasingly delivering packages as electrically as possible.

Green fuels

If electric delivery is not yet possible, we replace petrol and diesel with green fuels.

But even with all this effort, we still emit CO2. We compensate for the remaining emissions.

We aim to have zero CO2 emissions by 2030 in the final leg of our mail and package delivery: the route from the sorting center to your address.

Donations - Change the World with Us: Your Purchase Supports Charities

This way, we donate a total of 2% of our revenue and aim to make a difference for a better and more social world. Items that are returned (unopened) are donated to various organizations that can make good use of these products. We also donate a portion of the revenue to various charities.
