A3 books Colorful Splendor with Herbal Power

A3 books Color Splendor with Herbal Power
Plant-based dyeing and herbal medicine are older than the road to Rome. Yet there is still much to discover in both areas, and it becomes even more interesting when you combine the two. That is exactly what textile craftswoman Marijke Eering and herbal expert Marjanne Huising have done. With this book, they take you on a magical and inspiring journey in the land of herbs (perennial and wild plants, trees, and garden herbs). Of course, they discuss the color palette of the different herbs, how to dye wool and fabrics, and how to create with ecoprints. But there is and can be so much more!

For this book, Marijke and Marjanne have selected herbs that not only provide a beautiful color or an intriguing ecoprint but also have a healing effect on body and mind. For each herb, they discuss what it looks like, when you can harvest or collect it, which parts you use, how to process it, what color(s) it gives, what influence that color has on you, and what else you can do with it. The many recipes are for dye baths, medicinal purposes, or simply for enjoyment. Sustainability, wonder, knowledge, healing, curiosities, experimenting, and fun are just a few ingredients of color splendor with herbal power.
