Fipralone 50 mg spot-on solution for cats
The veterinary medicine has an insecticidal effect for up to 5 weeks against fleas (Ctenocephalides felis).
The veterinary medicine has an acaricidal effect for up to 2 weeks against ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus,
Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus). If certain types of ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus,
Dermacentor reticulatus) are already present at the time of administration, not all ticks may be killed within the
first 48 hours, but within 1 week.
The veterinary medicine can be used as part of a treatment strategy against flea-induced allergic dermatitis (= Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD)), if this has been established in advance
by a veterinarian.

What this product is used for
Treatment of flea (Ctenocephalides spp.) and tick (Dermacentor reticulatus) infestations.

Do not use in
In the absence of available data, do not administer the veterinary medicine to kittens younger than
2 months old and/or to kittens weighing less than 1 kg.
Do not use in sick (systemic diseases, fever, etc.) or recovering animals.
Do not use in rabbits, as side effects and even death may occur.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.

Active ingredients
Fipronil 50 mg

Excipients
Benzyl alcohol, Butylhydroxyanisole (E 320), Butylhydroxytoluene (E 321), Diethylene glycol monoethyl ether.

Dosage
For external use only. Administer 1 pipette of 0.5ml per animal.

Instructions for use
Thermally formed pipettes:
Hold the pipette upright. Tap a few times on the top of the pipette to get all the liquid to the bottom.
Cut or break off the tip of the spot-on along the break line. Part the hair until the skin is clearly visible.
Place the tip of the pipette directly on the bare skin and squeeze several times to empty the pipette completely.
Apply the contents in one or two places on the back of the cat; behind the head and between the shoulder blades.

It is important to apply the veterinary medicine where the animal cannot lick it off and that animals do not lick each other immediately after applying the liquid.
Ensure that the hair does not become very wet after administration as this may create a sticky spot at the application site.
If this does occur, the spot will disappear within 24 hours after administration.
A whitish spot may be observed at the application site for up to 48 hours after administration.

Administration schedule:
For optimal flea and/or tick control, the treatment schedule may be adjusted to local conditions.
In the absence of safety studies, the minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.
