Loofco Dish Sponge Loofah Organic

Loofco Dish Sponge Loofah Organic

The dish sponges from LoofCo are handmade in Egypt from the loofah plant, a biodegradable alternative to plastic dish sponges. The loofah fits well in the hand and when submerged in water, it swells up to a soft, flexible sponge. The sponge is soft enough to clean non-stick pans and flexible enough to fit into a mug. With normal use, the sponge lasts for months, and when worn out, it can be composted. Each sponge has a handy loop for hanging.

Loofah is a renewable resource that absorbs CO2 as it grows. The loofah plant is a fast-growing plant from the cucumber family that is rich in sustainable fibers yet soft and flexible. When the fruit is ripe, the inside of the loofah fruit develops a network of fibers that is perfect for cleaning and scrubbing when dried. The loofahs are harvested, peeled, seeded, and then dried, cut into lengths, and processed by hand in Egypt. This method of processing is a natural tradition passed down through many generations.

Ingredients
Luffa plant

Usage
Rinse the sponge thoroughly before first use. Use the sponge in warm water with dish soap, just like a regular dish sponge. The sponge scrubs when dry, but when you submerge it in water, it swells up to a soft, flexible sponge. To keep the loofah in good condition, squeeze out excess water, shake out any food particles, and hang the sponge on the cotton loop to dry. Wash the sponge occasionally in the washing machine or by hand if desired.
