The source for the Paleo Minerals magnesium salt products can be found at a depth of approximately 2000 meters below the European earth's surface. Temperature differences between day and night caused a continuous evaporation and crystallization of magnesium salt from the seas of that time 250 million years ago. The crystallized salt is now available deep below the earth's surface in rock. The quality of the salt is Bischofite quality, which denotes the purest quality of magnesium salt worldwide. It is extracted from the ground through solution mining: hot water is pumped into the salt layers, dissolving it, and then pumped out for further processing.
