Cetirizine 2HCl Sandoz® 10 mg, film-coated tablets
Cetirizine dihydrochloride is the active substance of Cetirizine 2HCl Sandoz 10 mg.
Cetirizine 2HCl Sandoz 10 mg is a medicine for allergies.

What is this medicine used for
For the relief of nasal and eye symptoms associated with seasonal and non-seasonal allergic rhinitis and in chronic urticaria (chronic idiopathic urticaria).

Do not use in case of
- You have a severe impairment of kidney function (severe renal failure with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min).
- You are allergic to cetirizine dihydrochloride, hydroxyzine, piperazine derivatives (closely related active substances of other medicines), or any of the substances in this medicine.

Extra caution with
Warning:
#This medicine may reduce reaction speed, and therefore be dangerous when driving and using machines. We advise you to read the package leaflet before use.
#Ensure that children play safely (for example, not high in a climbing frame) if they have used this medicine.
#Consult a doctor before use in case of epilepsy, urinary problems, or an enlarged prostate.
#This (self-care) medicine affects the results of allergy tests; stop using this medicine three days before the test.
#Stop using immediately in case of fever, redness, and pimples and consult a doctor.

Intake during pregnancy and breastfeeding
During pregnancy: Must NOT be used unless strictly advised by a doctor
During breastfeeding: Should NOT be used, unless strictly advised by a doctor.

Additional information
Consult your doctor:
#People who are short of breath or have difficulty breathing.
#People with very swollen eyes and discolored eye fluid.
#People with symptoms only on one side of the nose.
#People with moderate to severe symptoms where the medications are insufficient.
#Women who are pregnant and have these symptoms for the first time.
#Reaction to oak processionary caterpillar: In case of swelling lips, tongue, or eyelids, or shortness of breath and difficulty breathing.
#Reaction to oak processionary caterpillar: In case of eye symptoms that do not improve after rinsing the eyes.
#Reaction to oak processionary caterpillar: In case of symptoms that do not improve after 2 weeks.

Do not use in case of:
#Do not use in case of severe kidney dysfunction, bladder emptying problems, epilepsy, or risk of seizures, unless strictly advised by a doctor.
#In case of an allergy test, consult a doctor whether to stop using this allergy medication a few days beforehand.
#Do not use together with alcohol.

Use in case of:

Active ingredients
Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride.

Excipients
tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, LACTOSE monohydrate, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous
silicon dioxide tablet coating: hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 4000 and titanium dioxide (E171)

Dosage
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older
The recommended dosage is 10 mg once daily (1 tablet).
Use in children aged 6 to 12 years
The recommended dosage is 5 mg twice daily (as half a tablet).
Patients with reduced kidney function
The recommended dose for patients with moderately reduced kidney function is 5 mg once daily.

Maximum dosage
1 tablet per 24 hours

Instructions for use
take with a large amount of water. In case of moderate to severe impairment of kidney function: 1 time per day half a tablet. If no improvement of the complaint after 3 days of use, consult a doctor.
