Vitakruid L-Lysine 1000mg with vitamin CL-Lysine is an essential amino acid and a precursor to l-carnitine
L-Lysine is classified as one of the so-called essential amino acids, which means that our body is unable to produce this substance from other amino acids. Therefore, we are completely dependent on intake through food for adequate l-lysine levels. This can particularly pose a problem for vegetarians and vegans. The essential amino acid is primarily found in animal proteins; meat and dairy are the main sources. So, if you follow a lifestyle with little to no animal products, supplementation with l-lysine can be of added value within your diet!
Moreover, l-lysine is the direct precursor of the semi-essential amino acid l-carnitine, which means that our body can only partially produce the nutrient from food. L-carnitine also mainly occurs in animal products, making those who avoid meat and dairy again susceptible to inadequate levels.
Highest biologically available form of l-lysine
As the name suggests, we use only the l-structure form of lysine for L-Lysine 1000. From a biochemical perspective, the multifunctional amino acid has two forms, the l-structure form and the d-structure form. The body only recognizes the l-structure form (left-handed form) as natural. The mirrored form, the d-form, does not occur in living material and is therefore referred to as synthetic. The l-structure form guarantees that our l-lysine is one hundred percent natural and has the highest biological availability.
A high dosage of 1000 mg per tablet
In addition to the quality of the nutrient, the dosage is of course also important. A higher dosage simply provides more active substances and thus more effect. Most l-lysine supplements contain between 250 and 500 mg per tablet. Research shows that these dosages are too low for an adequate effect. Therefore, our L-Lysine 1000 contains no less than 500 mg of extract per capsule, and we recommend taking up to two capsules per day; a well-founded dosage!
Addition of vitamin C
However, an insurmountable problem with this nutrient is that we are not able to produce the vitamin ourselves. Therefore, we are completely reliant on our diet for an adequate vitamin C level. Taking a good supplement can be a welcome addition. Moreover, vitamin C ensures better absorption of l-lysine.
User-friendly due to tablet form
Furthermore, we offer you L-Lysine 1000 mg in tablet form. Supplementation in tablet form is seen as user-friendly by most people; no fussing with water, stirring, and mixing is necessary. If your preference is for supplementation in tablet form, then L-Lysine 1000 is an excellent choice!
