Zovirax Cold sore, cream 50 mg/g
Zovirax Cold sore cream accelerates the healing of the cold sore and shortens the period of pain.
What this medicine is used for
In the treatment of a cold sore caused by the herpes simplex virus.
Do not use in
When it has been shown that you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient aciclovir,
valaciclovir, propylene glycol or to any of the other ingredients of the cream.
Extra caution with
Warning:
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
During pregnancy: Can be used
During breastfeeding: Not preferred, consult your doctor

Consult your doctor:
#All babies with a cold sore.
#People for whom the spots have not disappeared after 14 days.
#People for whom the inflammation spreads or if there is pus from the blisters.
#People who also have blisters on other parts of the body.
#People with reduced immunity or with eczema.
Do not use in:
#Do not use on mucous membranes, such as in the mouth, the eye or the vagina.
#Not suitable for the treatment of genital herpes (an STI).
Use in:
In the treatment of a cold sore caused by the herpes simplex virus.
Active ingredients
One gram of cream contains 50 mg aciclovir.
Excipients
propylene glycol, petroleum jelly, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, poloxamer 407, sodium lauryl sulfate, glycerol monostearate, macrogol stearate 100, dimethicone 20 and purified water.
Dosage
Adults and children:
- Apply Zovirax Cold sore cream 5 times a day, at intervals of 4 hours, as soon as you experience symptoms. You do not need to apply cream at night.
The treatment should be continued for 4 days. If healing is not complete after ten days, counted from the start of treatment, you are advised to consult a doctor.
If you suffer from severe cold sores repeatedly, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
Maximum dosage
5x per 24 hours
Instructions for use
Apply a small amount of cream to the fingertip and from the finger to all affected skin. Try to avoid contact with the blisters, otherwise the infection may spread. Use this medicine for at least 4 days and maintain a 4-hour interval between applications. Wash hands before and after use. If there is no improvement in the complaint within 10 days, consult a doctor.
Read the package leaflet before use.
Pay attention to the maximum daily dosage.
