The green-lipped mussel owes its name to the light green edge along the outside of the shell. The mussel is found exclusively in the New Zealand waters of Marlborough Sounds, where the shellfish can thrive optimally in unspoiled nature. The green-bordered mollusk naturally contains a high concentration of essential fatty acids and glycosaminoglycans. In addition to green-lipped mussel, the patented Ovomet® also plays a key role in this formula. This eggshell membrane naturally contains collagen, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine, chondroitin, keratin, lysozyme, and more than 500 proteins.

When processing green-lipped mussel into powder, the nutrient value remains the same. In fact, you have a finely crushed mussel; healthy in itself, but we cannot associate significant health benefits with it. The amount of active ingredients is simply not high enough. When peeling an egg, we throw away the eggshell, but the membrane of the eggshell is a rich source of nutrients. Therefore, Eggnovo decided to use this part of the eggshell for Ovomet®. And in this area, they can rightly call themselves innovative. The company has a unique method for separating the internal membrane from the eggshell. During this careful production process, they process the delicate membrane directly into powder, without the intervention of heating. This way, all nutrients remain intact.
